THE UNREHEARSED STORIES OF YOUR DAILY FAMILY LIFE

'DAY IN THE LIFE'  DOCUMENTARY FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY

No staging or direction, just candid moments, beautifully photographed

Documentary family photography captures and preserves the unrehearsed story of your daily family life - natural and spontaneous.

You and your family, just being yourselves, with none of the awkwardness of 'traditional' family photography.

Your family's spirit and personalities found in the things you do together and in the everyday moments you share.

Meaningful Family Photography (or ‘About You’)

Here's the thing. When your family photographs are passed down through the generations shouldn't they be about more than just what your family looked like? Wouldn't you rather you're able to show your children, and your children's children what your lives were like? Who they were? What made them laugh, what made them cry? How they played, how they fought, how they smiled? The funny little things they did? And shouldn't you be in the photographs too?

Candid, authentic family moments

A different kind of family photography that allows your everyday moments to evolve by themselves: Split second instances that can be so fleeting, seemingly insignificant or even mundane. But when you slow them down to a single frame they become so much more.

Alternative family portrait photography - for people who don't like having their photo taken!

Capturing relationships, emotions, and interactions.

This is unrehearsed, spontaneous family photography - genuine, honest photographs that capture the tears and the tantrums as well as the hugs, the smiles, the chaos and the joy - the reality of your beautiful family life.

My Approach:

A documentary family photo session is a little different from what people might commonly associate with family photography (i.e. the family together, smartly dressed, in a studio environment or perhaps a park or beach - a selection of passive group and individual portraits, posed for the camera.

This is for the kids who just want to be themselves 100% of the time and can’t sit still!

Documentary sessions are based in the activities of daily family life. They are un-posed, unrehearsed and completely without any direction from me. They are of, and about, you and your family, doing what you love to do - together.
