2-hour Family Photoshoot in Bournemouth - with Harriet & Amos

This is the best time of day to shoot at this location. The light is fabulous and there aren’t as many people at this spot as you might expect, given how beautiful it is!

This was probably one of the most peaceful and serene family photoshoots I’ve ever shot. Simple, quiet and calm.

No ‘agenda’, no ‘must have’ shots and definitely no ‘staging’. So when Harriet asked me to capture some images of her and her son, hanging out at the beach, just having fun and exploring - that’s exactly what we did…

When there’s no agenda, the light is beautiful and no one is preoccupied with what I’m doing with the camera, I get to photograph the moments of connection between the people I’m photographing, unselfconsciously (them) and without any unnecessary ‘direction’ from me. The only suggestion I made throughout our time together was that we move 50 yards down the beach to where the better light was. That’s it, nothing more.

It was a great pleasure to photograph the bond between Harriet and Amos.
